India win three compound team golds at Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya

India's archers clinched three gold medals in the compound team events at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, on Wednesday, September 30. The Asian Games 2026 run from September 19 to October 4.

India sent 12 archers to the 20th Asian Games. Archery has become the country's most successful sport at these Games in terms of gold medals. All three archery medals won by India so far are gold and were earned in the compound team events. Across the continental event India has won 60 medals, including 10 gold, 21 silver and 29 bronze.

India defended the men's, women's and mixed compound archery titles they had won at the Hangzhou 2022 Games. Those three titles were confirmed on Wednesday, September 30. The gold medal winners comprise the members of the men's, women's and mixed compound teams.

All three recurve teams have entered the semi-finals. Those recurve teams are in contention to challenge for medals. The recurve competitions remain ongoing.

Dhiraj Bommadevara, Neeraj Chauhan and Kumkum Mohad are challenging for individual medals. In compound archery, Thirumuru Ganesh Mani Ratnam and Chikitha Tripathi are also in contention for individual medals.

Recurve and individual events remain ongoing, with several Indian archers in contention to challenge for further medals.
