India Women can seal 3-0 T20I sweep as Zimbabwe chase consolation win
India Women, featuring Smriti Mandhana, can complete a 3-0 clean sweep over Zimbabwe Women in the third T20I on October 20, 2026. Zimbabwe will look for a consolation win.
Zimbabwe managed totals of 114/5 and 102/8 in the opening two matches and have struggled to post competitive scores against India’s bowlers. Their batters will need to construct partnerships and raise the scoring rate to pose a challenge in the final T20I.
Chipo Mugeri-Tiripano, Sharne Mayers and captain Josephine Nkomo have been identified as central to any improvement in Zimbabwe’s batting. The visitors’ bowlers will also need to strike early and contain India’s aggressive top order to create pressure.
India opened the series with a four-wicket victory in the first T20I and followed that with a nine-wicket win in the second match, chasing a target of 103 and finishing on 104/1 in 8.5 overs. Those results left India with the series already secured heading into the third game.
Shafali Verma has been among India’s key performers at the top of the order, while Mandhana provides stability to the batting line-up. India’s middle-order options include Harmanpreet Kaur, Richa Ghosh and Deepti Sharma, and with the series won they may give game time to players who have had limited opportunities while aiming to maintain intensity and carry winning momentum into the upcoming ODI leg.
The third T20I is the final match of the T20 series before the teams switch to the 50-over format. The result will conclude the T20 leg and precede the start of the 50-over fixtures.
