India women win eighth Asia Cup after 72-run win over Sri Lanka in Dubai
India’s women’s cricket team won a record eighth Asia Cup title after beating Sri Lanka by 72 runs in Dubai, the Times of India reported on September 17, 2026.
Their celebrations were overshadowed after the team declined to receive the trophy from ACC chief Mohsin Naqvi.
BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia said the board had already informed organisers and that the decision was taken collectively.
