Indian Racing League first round begins at Madras International Circuit

The first round of the Indian Racing League will be held at the Madras International Circuit from Friday, featuring six City-based franchise teams in India’s only four-wheel racing league. The weekend will also witness the third round of the F4 India championship.
The IRL returns with six City-based franchise teams competing in the country’s only four-wheel racing league. Goa Aces JA Racing enter the opening round as the defending champion.
Goa Aces JA Racing are led by Raoul Hyman and Fabienne Wohlwend and will aim to carry forward the form that helped them triumph last season. Hyman has been a key figure in the team’s success. Wohlwend made headlines with a feature-race victory at the Goa Street Circuit in February 2026.
The F4 India championship stages its third round this weekend alongside the IRL opener. Championship leader Aris Kyriakou sits on 93 points with Luviwe Sambudla second on 88, a gap of five points between them. The organisers note that this weekend will be crucial in the title battle.
Bhuvan Bonu, who won Race-2 in Coimbatore, occupies third place in the F4 India standings on 51 points. His Race-2 victory and current points tally position him behind Kyriakou and Sambudla as the series moves into its next round.
The Madras International Circuit will host the IRL first round from Friday, while the third round of the F4 India championship is scheduled for the same weekend, setting up a decisive phase for the junior single-seater standings.
