Indian shooters miss medal targets at ISSF World Championships in Doha

Indian shooters failed to contest for medals in the 10m air rifle mixed team and 25m rapid fire pistol events at the ISSF World Championships in Doha on Wednesday, November 4, 2026. The outcomes left India without finalists in either discipline on that day.
In the 10m air rifle mixed team, Sonam Uttam Maskar and Himanshu Dhillon finished seventh with a combined score of 632.4; Sonam shot 316.6 and Himanshu 315.8. The other Indian pairing, Shambhavi Kshirsagar and Parth Mane, were disqualified after Shambhavi breached ISSF apparel and equipment rules. It was Shambhavi’s second disqualification for a similar violation in five months, after an earlier disqualification at the ISSF Junior World Championships in Suhl in June.
India’s challenge in the 25m rapid fire pistol concluded before the medal round, with none of the three Indian shooters advancing to the eight-shooter final. That absence left India without a contender among the finalists in that event on Wednesday. The rapid fire pistol competition formed part of the same Doha programme that produced the mixed-team result.
Earlier in the week, on Tuesday, Ravinder Singh, Saurabh Chaudhary and Amanpreet Singh combined to win the team gold in the men’s 50m pistol competition. Ravinder Singh also took the silver in the individual 50m pistol event. The 50m pistol is not on the Olympic roster.
