Indian Super League clubs that have lifted the Durand Cup

FC Goa, Bengaluru FC, Mohun Bagan SG and NorthEast United FC are the Indian Super League sides that have won the Durand Cup; FC Goa became the first ISL club to do so when they beat Mohammedan SC 1-0 on 3 October 2021 at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata.
The 135th edition of the Durand Cup is moving toward its quarter-finals in 2026, with five ISL clubs among the last eight: SC Delhi, Jamshedpur FC, NorthEast United FC, East Bengal FC and Mohun Bagan SG. They join I-League 2 outfit FC Raengdai, IFL side Shillong Lajong FC and service club Indian Army FT in the quarter-final line-up. Selected ISL teams first took part in the competition in 2019 at the 129th edition after the venue shifted to Kolkata.
FC Goa’s breakthrough as the first ISL winner came in a tightly contested 2021 final against Mohammedan SC, a match decided by Edu Bedia’s 105th-minute goal in extra time. The final was held at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan and was attended by 34,000 spectators, according to the match report.
Bengaluru FC captured their maiden Durand Cup in the 130th edition, defeating Mumbai City FC 2-1 at the Salt Lake Stadium. Siva Sakthi opened the scoring in the 10th minute and Alan Costa added a second in the 61st minute, while Apuia provided the lone goal for Mumbai City.
Mohun Bagan remain the competition’s most decorated club with 17 Durand Cup titles; their most recent final cited here saw them beat East Bengal FC 1-0. Dimitri Petratos scored the only goal in the 71st minute with a 25-yard solo effort while Mohun Bagan were reduced to 10 men.
NorthEast United FC secured back-to-back Durand Cup victories in 2024 and 2025. In 2024 they won on penalties, defeating Mohun Bagan SG 4-3 after a match in which Jason Cummings and Sahal Abdul Samad scored for Mohun Bagan and Alaeddine Ajaraie and Guill Fernandez levelled for NorthEast United; that campaign produced NorthEast United’s maiden Durand title. The Highlanders then defended the trophy in 2025 with a 6-1 win over Diamond Harbour FC, with goals from Asheer Akhtar, Parthib Gogoi, Thoi Singh, Alaeddine Ajaraie, Andy Rodriguez and Jairo.
With the Durand Cup quarter-finals imminent, the 135th edition presents opportunities for ISL representatives in the last eight to add to the list of ISL winners or to defend recently won titles.
