Insomniac releases Marvel’s Wolverine update 1.001.006 with new Senses toggles and multiple fixes

Insomniac Games released Marvel’s Wolverine update 1.001.006 on 2026-09-26, adding player-controlled toggles that let users disable several of the game’s guidance mechanics and including a suite of bug fixes and stability improvements.

The patch follows an earlier update that reduced the visibility of scent trails and represents a further move to give players more control over exploration and in-game assistance. Developers introduced dedicated toggles for various “Senses” features and described the release as a step that reduces hand-holding while retaining story-led guidance where required.

Update 1.001.006 adds explicit options to turn off specific guidance elements; the settings menu now allows disabling Whisky Bottle Scent Trails, Material Crate Audio Clues, and Nightmare Door Roots. Insomniac’s new toggle feature in “WOLVERINE” — shared publicly via @ItsNikfor — shows these Senses controls grouped under exploration settings.

Players who prefer minimal on-screen assistance can disable the optional Senses and attempt the base game’s exploration without those cues, while the developer has confirmed that Story-critical Senses will continue to appear when required by the primary narrative. The patch therefore removes many optional hints but preserves guidance tied to story progression.

The update addresses several reported stability and progression issues: multiple crash fixes have been implemented, a progression bug in the “The One That Got Away” mission that could leave players stuck after sliding down from a tree has been resolved, and Photo Mode now corrects misaligned Wolverine claws. Additional visual fixes include a rare white-object glitch and a repair to a casino bathroom sign affected by a UV mapping issue.

Insomniac also bundled broader quality-of-life and stability improvements in the patch. According to reports cited in the original announcement, Marvel’s Wolverine has sold around 2 million copies so far and is available to play on PS5 and PS5 Pro.
