Inter Miami to host D.C. United at NU Stadium in MLS Round 28 on October 10

Inter Miami CF will host D.C. United at NU Stadium in the round 28 fixture of the 2026 Major League Soccer season on October 10, with Miami seeking a response after a late 1-2 defeat to Columbus Crew and D.C. United arriving on a four-match winless run.

Inter Miami conceded in the closing moments against Columbus and dropped three points, leaving Kily González’s side 14 points adrift of Eastern Conference leaders Nashville; the team is expected to prioritise a calm, composed defensive approach at home. D.C. United drew 3-3 with the Vancouver Whitecaps in their most recent match, a six-goal game in which René Weiler’s side scored late to salvage a point.

D.C. United have recorded six wins in 26 MLS matches this season and sit 11th in the Eastern Conference table; the visitors will face the challenge of an away trip but are projected to compete strongly. Inter Miami will try to use home advantage to regain momentum after the defeat to Columbus.

Lionel Messi, 39, remains central to Inter Miami’s attacking plans and has 21 goals and 11 assists in 24 Major League Soccer appearances this season. For D.C. United, Tai Baribo is expected to lead the line; the 28-year-old has 14 goals in 20 MLS matches and will operate as one of the strikers.

Squad availability for the fixture shows Inter Miami missing Tadeo Allende through injury and Santiago Morales through suspension. D.C. United will be without Gabriel Segal, who is not fully fit.

The projected starting lineups published are: Inter Miami — Novo (GK); Lujan, Casemiro, Micael; Mura, De Paul, Bright, Reguilon; Messi, Suarez, Pinter. D.C. United — Johnson (GK); Hefti, Bartlett, Rowles, Kurokawa; Nono, Hopkins, Dozzell, Kijima; Ordaz, Baribo.

Inter Miami are given a narrow pre-match edge at home, with a prediction of a 2-1 win over D.C. United.

The match will be played at NU Stadium on October 10 and will be available live to viewers on Apple TV.
