Substitute Vinith Venkatesh’s injury-time equaliser rescued a point for Bengaluru FC in a 1-1 Indian Super League draw with NorthEast United FC at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in Guwahati on Friday.

Vinith finished with a right-footed shot into the bottom-left corner in the third minute of stoppage time to level the score. The equaliser followed a defensive mix-up between goalkeeper Gurmeet Singh and Eneko Satrustegui. M.S. Jithin had given NorthEast the lead in the 15th minute, his goal coming from a counter-attacking move.

The result: NorthEast United FC 1 (Jithin 15) drew with Bengaluru FC 1 (Vinith 90+3).

The draw kept both teams unbeaten in the competition, with NorthEast sitting atop the table on eight points from four matches and Bengaluru FC second on seven points from three games.

NorthEast next plays Goan club Churchill Brothers away on November 5 while BFC will take the field a day later at the same Fatorda Stadium in Margao, where it faces FC Goa.
