At the toss for the Asian Games final on October 3, 2026, Shreyas Iyer and Sahibzada Farhan maintained their no-handshake practice.
The practice has continued since the 2025 Asia Cup and reflects tensions between India and Pakistan.
India won the toss and elected to bat in the gold-medal game, with the lineup unchanged and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi opening alongside Abhishek Sharma.
