Iyer wins toss and India elect to field in second T20I in New Delhi

India captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and elected to field against Afghanistan in the second Twenty20 international in New Delhi on September 15, 2026.
India head into the match with a 1-0 lead in the three-match series after taking the opening T20I by seven wickets. The visitors made one enforced change to their planned XI when leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi was named in place of Varun Chakravarthy, who has been ruled out of the series with an injury.
India’s playing eleven for the second T20I is: Sanju Samson (wk), Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan, Shreyas Iyer (c), Tilak Varma, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Shivam Dube, Axar Patel, Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravi Bishnoi.
Afghanistan’s XI named for the match is: Rahmanullah Gurbaz (w), Ibrahim Zadran (c), Sediqullah Atal, Gulbadin Naib, Darwish Rasooli, Azmatullah Omarzai, Mohammad Nabi, Rashid Khan, Noor Ahmad, Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Fazalhaq Farooqi.
