Jack Grealish omitted from Everton squad for Premier League trip to Newcastle

Jack Grealish has been omitted from Everton's squad for their Premier League trip to Newcastle on Monday night, leaving him set to miss the match.

The playmaker was dropped last Thursday from Everton’s Carabao Cup win against Matthias Jaissle’s team for disciplinary reasons after he missed training without permission in the buildup to the fourth-round tie. He had also been absent from the previous match, a Premier League defeat at Arsenal, owing to illness.

Everton have travelled to the north-east without the playmaker, who rejoined the club on a second lucrative loan deal from Manchester City this summer.

Grealish has been left on Merseyside to work on his fitness at Everton’s Finch Farm training ground.

The 31-year-old England international is poised to miss his third successive game for David Moyes’s side. Moyes has yet to confirm when the England international will be considered for inclusion again, and Everton will visit Newcastle in the Premier League on Monday night.
