Jake Jarman takes men's floor silver at World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Rotterdam

Jake Jarman won silver in the men's floor final at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Rotterdam on 24 October 2026, finishing behind American Frederick Richard. He scored 14.600 and became Britain's most decorated athlete in World Championships history.
Defending world champion Jake Jarman narrowly missed out on gold by 0.333 points to Frederick Richard, who claimed his first world title. Jarman was the final competitor in the floor final and the result represented his fourth World Championships medal, following vault gold in 2023 and team bronze in 2022.
Reflecting on the outcome, Jarman said: "I can't be annoyed although it's not the result I was aiming for." He added: "To know that I could do a bit better yet I've still walked away with a world silver gives me a lot of confidence, and there's room for improvement, so overall I'm really happy. "We all really pushed each other and its good fun to be a part of and I'm excited for more battles in the future."
Courtney Tulloch, 31, was the final competitor in the men's rings final; a stumble on landing his dismount cost marks and he finished seventh with a score of 13.366.
Eighteen-year-old Abi Martin, competing in her first world women's vault final, finished eighth with an average of 13.716 points from her two attempts. Brazil's Rebeca Andrade won the women's vault gold in her first World Championships after a 22-month break from the sport.
Andrade, 27, is Brazil's most decorated Olympian and won four medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics, extending her total count to six before stepping away to focus on her mental and physical well-being; her vault victory was her third world title in the event and came in the presence of Simone Biles, who joined the spectators in the Ahoy Arena and is yet to confirm if she will return to gymnastics after last competing in Paris.
Algerian Kaylia Nemour, 19, the defending world and Olympic champion, won gold in the uneven bars. American Skye Bradley, who took gold in Saturday's all-around final, added bronze in both of the day's women's apparatus finals.
Jarman is scheduled to compete again on Sunday's final day alongside team-mate Hepworth in the men's vault, while Martin and Alice Kinsella will feature in the women's floor; the Gymnastics World Championships run until Sunday, 25 October and coverage is available on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer.
