Japan given crash course in cricket at Korogi Sports Park during Asian Games

Japan received a crash course in cricket at Korogi Sports Park during the Asian Games on September 23, 2026.

Although cricket is steeped in tradition in Japan, it has yet to capture a massive fan base; the Japan Cricket Association has about 7,300 registered members and awareness remains limited.

To bridge that gap, Korogi Sports Park has introduced visual aids to enhance spectators' understanding of the sport. Indian athletes have struggled to find familiar dishes because of language barriers but have managed to locate some Indian eateries that cater to their preferences.
