Jarman secures second World Championships silver in Rotterdam

Jake Jarman became the first British male gymnast to win two individual medals at the World Gymnastics Championships in Rotterdam on 25 October 2026 when he took silver in the vault final. He finished second to Armenia's Artur Davtyan.
He had earlier won silver in the men's floor on Saturday in Rotterdam to become Britain's most decorated athlete in the history of the event. He achieved a score of 14.650 in the vault final. "I'm just really happy. The aim is to land on my feet. I know that sounds simple but it really isn't," said 24-year-old Jarman, who has five World Championship medals overall in his career.
Armenia's Artur Davtyan won gold in the vault with a score of 14.850.
"I've had to adapt at these championships, competing all-around and then apparatus alongside the team goals, so I've learnt a lot. "Today's not quite the score I would be aiming for on vault, but, overall, when I assess where I'm at, it feels like I've managed the competitions really well. "I've peaked at the right time. I've been really consistent every routine, set some PBs along the way, so it's been a very positive World Championships for me."
British teenager Abigail Martin finished fourth in the women's floor final after recording the same total as the bronze medallist, 13.466, but losing the tie-break on execution; France's Maiana Prat had an execution score of 7.866 compared to 18-year-old Martin's 7.666. Gold went to 17-year-old American Claire Pease.
