Jay Meena, 25, won India’s first-ever Asian Games medal in soft tennis at the 2026 Asian Games in Nagoya.

Weeks before the Games he could barely climb a flight of stairs after typhoid left him bedridden and eight kilograms lighter.

He also battled a hip injury and self-doubt.

His achievement completed a journey that began with a school rustication.
