Joakim Alexandersson names 23-player India U-17 women’s squad for Uzbekistan friendlies

Joakim Alexandersson named a 23-player India U-17 women’s squad as the team arrived in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, ahead of two friendly matches against Uzbekistan scheduled for August 27 and August 30. The coach has taken the group to Tashkent for those fixtures.

The Young Tigresses began training in Bengaluru on July 16, and these will be their first two friendlies as part of preparations for the AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup China 2027 Qualifiers. The visit to Uzbekistan follows the Bengaluru training camp.

Both friendlies will be held at the UFA National Football Centre in Tashkent, with kick-off listed at 10:30 IST for each match. The two games against Uzbekistan are closed-door friendly matches.

Goalkeepers named in the 23-player squad are Munni, Sanatombi Devi Irengbam and Sonam Ghosh; defenders are Abhista Basnett, Ambalika Chanu Khundongbam, Joyshini Chanu Huidrom, Ritu Badaik, Sharvari Mane and Taniya Devi Tonambam.

Midfield selections are Alva Devi Senjam, Bonifilia Shullai, Julan Nongmaithem, Monika Devi Wairokpam, Pritika Barman, Redima Devi Chingkhamayum, Silky Devi Sorokhaibam, Thandamoni Baskey and Yashica Haribabu, while the forwards are Anushka Kumari, Deepika Kumari, Joya, Nidhi and Nira Chanu Longjam.
