Kerala Blasters and Mumbai City play out 0-0 draw at a packed Kochi stadium

Kerala Blasters FC and Mumbai City FC played to a 0-0 draw on Sunday at a sold-out Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi in an Indian Super League (ISL) 2026-27 match, with both sides sharing the points.
The hosts entered the fixture seeking recovery from a 4-1 loss to NorthEast United FC, while Mumbai City came off a 1-1 draw with Punjab FC; the game developed quickly into an end-to-end contest as both teams applied pressure from the start.
Kerala Blasters produced the first clear opening in the 11th minute when Mohammed Sanan’s dangerous crossing caused problems for the Mumbai defence and a delivery reached Hormipam Ruivah amid a scramble inside the six-yard box, but his effort struck the side netting.
Mumbai City grew into the match and threatened in the 23rd minute when Muhammed Ajsal controlled Carlos Delgado’s lob, drove into the box and crossed to PN Noufal, whose right-footed strike was pushed away by Amrinder Singh with a sharp reflex save from the six-yard area.
Mumbai City made their first substitution in the 39th minute, bringing on Lalnuntluanga Bawitlung for Leandro Otormin, and Kerala nearly took the lead in first-half stoppage time when Sanan beat his marker with a stepover and fired a left-footed shot across goal that missed by inches; the half ended 0-0.
At the restart Kerala Blasters replaced Korou Singh Thingujam with Sreekuttan M S in the 46th minute, and six minutes later Valpuia’s free-kick forced Amrinder off his line to clear; the clearance fell to Akash whose headed attempt struck the woodwork. Kerala made a double change in the 60th minute, bringing on Ebindas Yesudasan and Andre Green for Sanan and Momo Yansane.
PN Noufal had another opportunity in the 71st minute when his right-footed shot was saved by Amrinder, the rebound falling to Ajsal who sent the follow-up over the bar. Mumbai City introduced Hridaya Jain for Ajsal in the 85th minute, Kerala brought on Vibin Mohanan for Adrian Luna in stoppage time, and Mumbai also made a double substitution with Supratim Das and Yuvraj Kadam replacing Puipuia and Farukh Choudhary as both teams continued to send crosses without finding the breakthrough.
The draw was the second goalless result of the 2026-27 ISL season for Kerala Blasters FC and Mumbai City FC, and NorthEast United lead the ISL 2026-27 points table.
