Kerala Blasters beat Inter Kashi 2-0 to open ISL 2026-27 campaign in Pune

Kerala Blasters FC opened their Indian Super League 2026-27 campaign with a 2-0 victory over Inter Kashi at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Pune on Sunday, with Vibin Mohanan scoring in the 18th minute and Andre Green adding a stoppage-time strike in the fourth minute of added time.

Kerala began the match on the front foot and created early chances, Freddy Lallawmawma firing over in the fifth minute before Rosenberg Gabriel tested Kerala goalkeeper Arsh Shaikh a minute later. Inter Kashi forward Manvir Singh also threatened in the opening exchanges with an effort that sailed over the crossbar as both teams sought control.

The deadlock was broken in the 18th minute when Korou Singh set up Vibin Mohanan, who finished with a right-footed strike from the centre of the box to put Kerala ahead. The Blasters carried that narrow lead into the interval after further first-half opportunities.

Inter Kashi pressed for an equaliser in the first half, with Manvir Singh forcing a save from Arsh Shaikh in the 35th minute. Kerala produced chances of their own before half-time: Freddy Lallawmawma drew a save from Albino Gomes and Korou Singh was denied in first-half stoppage time.

After the break Kerala continued to search for a second goal, with substitute Momo Yansane flashing an attempt wide soon after coming on and Paul Ramfangzauva and Freddy Lallawmawma testing the shots from distance. Andre Green came close in the 65th minute but missed narrowly, while Inter Kashi remained dangerous—Manvir Singh had a header saved by Arsh Shaikh in the 61st minute and Ayush Chhikara shot narrowly wide in the 72nd.

The match was sealed deep into stoppage time when Mohammed Sanan fed Andre Green, who finished with his left foot from the centre of the box into the bottom-right corner to make it 2-0. Sumit Sharma had earlier headed over from a corner in the 80th minute as Kerala defended their advantage in the closing stages.

Kerala Blasters defeated Inter Kashi 0-2 to secure all three points in their opening ISL 2026-27 fixture, with Vibin Mohanan and Andre Green on the scoresheet for the visitors.
