Kerala’s Sports Department has submitted a confidential inquiry report into the failed proposal to bring Lionel Messi and Argentina’s football team to the state, a report published on August 11, 2026 said.
The probe examined whether proper procedures and agreements were followed.
Sports Minister O J Janeesh withheld details of the findings, and former minister V Abdurahiman rejected allegations, saying the government suffered no financial loss.
