Kevin Nash responds to criticism of Roman Reigns after Money in the Bank

WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash addressed criticism of Roman Reigns on the latest episode of his Kliq This podcast on October 13, 2026, after Reigns defeated LA Knight at Money in the Bank last weekend to retain the World Heavyweight title. Nash’s comments came amid renewed debate over Reigns’ ongoing push in WWE.
Podcast host Conrad Thompson sparked major controversy in mid-2026 after labelling Roman Reigns the “most overrated main eventer in WWE history” and calling him an “industry plant”. Those criticisms resurfaced following Money in the Bank, and the PLE finish drew visible fan backlash, including an unfavourable like-dislike ratio on WWE’s YouTube highlights.
Many fans argued that LA Knight deserved the win, noting he remains a massive fan favorite but has yet to win a major championship beyond the United States Title. Reigns’ part-time schedule has been a focal point for critics; although his appearances have increased, his limited availability as World Champion has continued to affect storylines and rivalries, including his recent feud with LA Knight. After the match was announced, Reigns made one appearance on the go-home edition of Raw and engaged in a promo battle with Knight.
During the Kliq This episode, Nash and co-host Sean Oliver discussed Reigns and shared their views on WWE’s booking of the OTC. While reading a fan-submitted question, Oliver asked: “Kev [Kevin Nash], what’s your take on Roman Reigns? I think he’s better than some say, but not as good as others claim. He’s great, but probably not a GOAT contender. Took a lot from the office to get over. Guys like Cody [Rhodes], Seth [Rollins], and Mox [Jon Moxley] are as talented as him, but never pushed as hard.”
Responding to the question, Nash said that Reigns has a more marketable look than Rhodes, Rollins, or Moxley and praised his in-ring presentation and vocal presence. “I think he’s got, of the three people you just mentioned with him, a very much more marketable look. And he’s got a great voice. When he’s in shape, I mean, he checks all the boxes,” Nash said. When Oliver then asked whether he would trust Reigns to take charge of WWE’s creative direction, Nash replied, “F**k yes. I’m a fan.”
After defending the World Heavyweight title against Knight at Money in the Bank, Reigns is scheduled to face Undisputed Champion Sami Zayn in a Champion vs Champion match for the men’s Crown Jewel title at the namesake PLE. The next Premium Live Event after Money in the Bank 2026 is Crown Jewel, which will take place at the Riyadh Season Stadium in KAFD, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on November 7, 2026.
