Kevin Owens appears to injure knee at WWE house show in Charleston

Kevin Owens appeared to suffer a knee injury during a WWE live event in Charleston on August 31, 2026, but completed the match and defeated The Miz. Video of the incident went viral on social media.
The timing raised concerns because Owens had only recently returned to WWE after being sidelined for approximately a year and a half. His previous absence began after he revealed ahead of WrestleMania 41 that he was dealing with a neck injury and underwent an extended recovery. Owens made his comeback as one of the surprise contenders at SummerSlam.
Owens was competing against The Miz when he appeared to hurt his knee following a bad landing early in the match. The Miz and referee Charles Robinson adjusted their actions to give Owens time to assess the situation. Robinson climbed onto the ropes and shouted toward Owens during the unusual sequence, creating a lighter moment while the WWE star tried to determine whether he could continue. Despite visibly struggling, Owens managed to get back to his feet, hit The Miz with a Stunner and secured the victory.
After the match, Danhausen made his way to the ring and interacted with The Miz while Owens rolled out of the ring and appeared to be limping heavily. A social media clip posted under the handle @SizzleSergeant captured the scene and read: "Full footage of the Kevin Owens apparent leg injury at today’s house show. He was limping after a superkick and during the match all the way to the finish. Hopefully it’s nothing serious. @SizzleSergeant #WWECharleston pic.twitter.com/zsmy5pmfgT". Owens then called for an official, who helped him make his way backstage, and the Prizefighter continued to favor the injured knee during the walk.
There has been no confirmed diagnosis or indication of how much time, if any, Owens could miss; the incident should therefore be treated as an apparent injury rather than a confirmed long-term setback. Fans will have to wait for an official update to learn whether the knee problem will affect his WWE schedule.
