Kieron Pollard bought by Joburg Super Kings for R1.5 million at SA20 2027 auction

On October 7, 2026, West Indies all-rounder Kieron Pollard was purchased by the Joburg Super Kings at the SA20 2027 auction for R1.5 million.

The 39-year-old is described in the report as a fearless batsman who can bowl in the death overs and “unarguably one of the most prolific all-rounders in the 21st century.” In the Indian Premier League he played exclusively for the Mumbai Indians, appearing in 189 matches over 13 seasons and recording 3,412 runs and 69 wickets.

Pollard has previous SA20 experience, having featured in the competition during the 2023/24 and 2025/26 seasons for MI Cape Town, the Mumbai Indians–owned franchise in South Africa.

Across his SA20 outings he has played 12 matches, scoring 207 runs and taking 4 wickets.

The move pairs a long-serving Caribbean international with the Joburg Super Kings; the report adds that it will be interesting to see what role Pollard plays at JSK in the upcoming season.

He joins the Joburg Super Kings ahead of the SA20 2027 season as a R1.5 million signing.
