Kieron Pollard’s Toronto Sixers beat Vancouver Anchors to win Canada Super 60 Season 2 at BC Place

Kieron Pollard-led Toronto Sixers beat Vancouver Anchors by five wickets to claim the men’s title of Canada Super 60 Season 2 in the final at BC Place in Vancouver on October 5, completing a championship double after their women’s team had earlier retained its title.
Zaheer Khan co-owned Vancouver Anchors were sent in and posted 164/3 in their 10 overs, propelled by Obus Pienaar’s unbeaten 82 off 21 balls and captain Moeen Ali’s 45 off 18; Toronto chased the target down on the final ball to finish 168/5.
Vancouver began aggressively with Aneurin Donald making 17 off nine and Aaron Johnson 14 off 10, before Martin Andersson was dismissed without scoring; Moeen Ali and Obus Pienaar then dominated, combining for 21 boundaries as Pienaar struck two fours and 12 sixes and Moeen struck two fours and five sixes.
Toronto’s pursuit was anchored by Nicholas Pooran, who scored 67 off 23 balls with two fours and nine sixes at a strike rate of 291.30, while Kieron Pollard contributed 35 from 13 deliveries and Daniel Sams finished unbeaten on 25 off nine balls with three sixes; Will Smeed added 16 off seven before being dismissed by Lewis Gregory.
The Sixers reached the final after a nine-run semi-final win over Mississauga Masters, who had finished the league stage unbeaten and at the top of the table, while Vancouver qualified by defeating Brampton Blitz by six wickets in the second semi-final; the finalists had finished second and fourth respectively in the league stage.
Nicholas Pooran was named Player of the Tournament for scoring 207 runs and taking two wickets across the competition.
