Kolkata gears up for India vs Brazil friendly after Lionel Messi fiasco

India host Brazil at Kolkata’s Salt Lake Stadium in a high-profile football friendly on Saturday.

Kolkata is gearing up for the match after a Lionel Messi fiasco. Preparations are tight, but ticket sales lag due to high prices and seemingly limited star power. India, ranked 138th, will view the match as a rare chance to compete against world-class opposition, and despite criticism over priorities, the event is historic for Indian football and fans.
