Konsa and O'Reilly doubtful for Czech Republic Nations League tie

Ezri Konsa and Nico O'Reilly are doubts to play against the Czech Republic in England's Nations League match on Tuesday night, having been named in the squad for the international window. Both players were part of the England side that reached the semi-finals of the 2026 World Cup.

The pair were the only two members of the England squad to miss training on Monday morning, each following their own individual programmes. Both played the full 90 minutes in England's 3-2 loss to Spain on Saturday. The training absence came in the immediate aftermath of that defeat.

Manchester City's O'Reilly started at left-back in the Spain game, a role the report says he made his own during the World Cup, and his unavailability would create an opening for Lewis Hall. It was O'Reilly's mistake which led to Alex Baena drawing Spain level at 2-2 at Wembley before the World Cup winners went on to claim victory.

Arsenal centre-back Konsa has become one of Tuchel's most trusted players and started seven of the eight matches at the World Cup. If Konsa is unavailable, central defender Jarrad Branthwaite, who came on for Marc Guehi late on against Spain, could be a contender to start.

England play four matches in this international window. After the loss to Spain, they take on the Czech Republic both home and away, with a trip to Rijeka to face Croatia scheduled between those ties.
