Ahead of the second T20I in Christchurch, coach Sitanshu Kotak kept suspense over Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's place in the playing XI, saying "It doesn't work like that".
Kotak stressed the role of management in selection and said that, with Ishan Kishan injured, Sooryavanshi could step into the side.
He praised openers Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma for their performances in the opening match against New Zealand and urged the team to prioritise unity over social media distractions as they strive for another win in Christchurch.
