Krishna Jayasankar to make Asian Games debut after 15-year wait

Krishna Jayasankar, a 23-year-old shot putter, is finally set to make her Asian Games debut in Japan after waiting 15 years to wear the India jersey, the Times of India reported on September 25, 2026.

Her progress has included injuries and missed opportunities, and she broke her own national record with a 17.35m throw.

She has set an 18m target and said her LA 2028 dream is in sight, adding: 'All right, it’s showtime.'
