Lawrence extends England lead as weather curtails play at Lord's
On day three of the second Test at Lord's on 29 August 2026, Dan Lawrence extended England's advantage over Pakistan while rain and light severely restricted play. During the two hours that were possible he compiled an unbeaten 50 off 66 balls as England finished the day 177 for seven.

Harry Brook showed restraint to make 34 from 56 balls as he and Lawrence rebuilt the innings, while Jamie Smith was dismissed for seven after chipping a delivery from Mohammad Abbas to midwicket. Gus Atkinson was trapped lbw by Mohammad Ali, and Emilio Gay, who resumed on 30 at 2.20pm, managed only one further run before being trapped lbw by a pea-roller from Abbas.
