Leaks resurface showing unused Trevor Philips death scene and early GTA VI assets

On September 19, 2026, development-file leaks posted online and on gaming forums resurfaced, purporting to show early Grand Theft Auto VI assets and an unused death scene for Trevor Philips from Grand Theft Auto V’s Option A ending.
The material is said to trace back to a 2023 leak and includes both GTA V and GTA VI content, with files that reportedly contain around 192 GB of GTA V development data. Among the items attributed to the GTA VI side are very early Vice City map assets described as gray boxes with no detail, some of which date back to 2015, and references to a purported Liberty City DLC for GTA V.
In Grand Theft Auto V’s released Option A ending, Trevor crashes into an oil tanker and is set on fire; the resurfaced development dialogue, however, describes an alternate sequence in which he would have struck a truck carrying liquid nitrogen, freezing him solid before his body shattered into pieces. The leaked dialogue appears in development files but, according to the same material, that alternate death scene was never produced or included in the final game.
The files also reportedly show that Brucie Kibbutz from Grand Theft Auto IV was at one point planned to appear in GTA V’s single-player campaign and might have shared a mission with Franklin, a plan that was dropped during development. The archive references a cancelled Liberty City expansion for GTA V rather than any released DLC tied to that location.
Data miners additionally uncovered low-quality map assets believed to be connected to GTA VI alongside the unused GTA V material, and several reports describe the archive as containing early GTA VI-related assets in addition to the GTA V development files. Rockstar Games has not verified the authenticity or significance of the leaked materials and has not issued an official statement about them.
GTA VI is scheduled for release on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
