Rapper Lil Yachty told Chris Van Vliet in an interview published on Sept. 16, 2026 that he is losing money while participating in WWE activities. “It’s not for the money. I don’t want anybody thinking I’m getting some crazy check. I’m losing money doing this, but I love it. I love everything about this shit,” he said.

Yachty said his WWE commitments have reduced the amount of other work he can take and added extra expenses because he travels with a security guard, assistants and friends. He stated he has no regrets and that his involvement goes beyond occasional appearances, having attended WWE shows as a fan for years before becoming an active participant.

He first appeared on Friday Night SmackDown in March 2026 as Trick Williams’ manager, a role that continued across the spring and early summer. That association included an appearance at WrestleMania 42 when Yachty accompanied Williams to the ring.

Yachty made his in-ring debut at Sunday Night’s Main Event on September 6, facing Baron Corbin in a five-minute match. The stipulation was that if Yachty lasted the five-minute time limit, Williams would receive another opportunity to challenge Corbin for the United States Championship.

Yachty lasted the full five minutes, and that outcome enabled Trick Williams to regain the United States Championship later that night. The in-ring appearance represented a clear step beyond Yachty’s managerial duties.

Reflecting on his motives and commitment to wrestling, Yachty said: “I’m doing this ’cause I love this sh*t; this is, like, everything to me.”

Yachty also said he wants to eventually be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
