Linda Noskova beats Karolina Muchova to win Wimbledon 2026 women’s singles title

Linda Noskova defeated Karolina Muchova 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 to win the women’s singles title at Wimbledon 2026 at the All England Club. The victory secured Noskova’s first Grand Slam championship.

The 21-year-old Czech became the youngest women’s singles champion at the All England Club since Petra Kvitová in 2011 and added the Venus Rosewater Dish to a grass-court season that also included the Berlin Open title. Noskova relinquished a second-set lead, during which she had held five match points, but recovered in the decider to convert her sixth championship point.

Her triumph continued recent Czech success at Wimbledon: Noskova is the third Czech player in four years to win the women’s singles crown after Markéta Vondroušová in 2023 and Barbora Krejčíková in 2024. The result extended the nation’s run of Grand Slam winners at the tournament.

The final also ensured Wimbledon crowned a different women’s singles champion for the ninth consecutive completed edition, a streak noted in coverage of the event. That sequence reflects the turnover in recent champions at the All England Club.

For Muchova, the loss represented a second Grand Slam final defeat; she had entered the match as the favorite. Momentum appeared to swing to Muchova after she took the second set, but Noskova ultimately prevailed in the third set.

Several pre-tournament favorites did not reach the latter stages: Aryna Sabalenka, Elena Rybakina and defending champion Iga Swiatek all failed to enter the second week of the competition. Their early exits were noted alongside the outcome of the women’s final.
