Lionel Messi was fined after slapping Philadelphia Union midfielder Quinn Sullivan at Subaru Park during Inter Miami’s Major League Soccer match on Wednesday.

The 39-year-old Inter Miami forward caught Sullivan around the back of the head; the Argentinian appeared to be angry that Sullivan had elbowed him after he had played the ball, and the referee intervened before the situation could escalate.

The match finished 2-2.
