Litchfield 71* steers Sunrisers to nine-wicket win over Phoenix at Edgbaston

Sunrisers Leeds beat Birmingham Phoenix by nine wickets at Edgbaston in The Hundred women's competition on 7 August 2026, reaching 111-1 in 69 balls while chasing Phoenix's 107-9 (100 balls); Phoebe Litchfield remained unbeaten on 71 off 33 balls and completed the target with 31 balls to spare.

Birmingham Phoenix, sent in to bat, finished on 107-9 with Emma Lamb top-scoring on 47 (34) and Ellyse Perry making 31; Deepti Sharma took 3-11 and Kate Cross claimed 2-14 for the visitors, while Fatima Sana returned figures of 1-25.

Phoenix lost four wickets for five runs late in their innings and Lamb was the final batter dismissed, run out by Litchfield, as the hosts closed on 107-9; only two Phoenix players reached double figures in the innings.

Sunrisers' chase was led by Litchfield, who recorded her fastest half-century in the competition off 20 deliveries, struck 13 fours and one six and finished 71 not out; Lauren Winfield-Hill added 26 as the pair put on an unbroken 87, Bryony Smith being the only Sunrisers batter dismissed, out for 12 caught by Alana King off Fatima Sana.

The result moves Sunrisers above Welsh Fire into fourth place and leaves them two points behind Manchester Super Giants in the final knock-out spot, with all mentioned sides having played six matches in the competition.

Birmingham Phoenix, MI London and London Spirit can no longer progress to the knock-out stage following this round of fixtures.
