Liverpool agree £123 million deal with PSG for Bradley Barcola

Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain have reached an agreement for France winger Bradley Barcola in a transfer reported on Saturday, 29 August 2026, that could be worth up to 123 million pounds (US Dollars 166.43 million). Media reports say the move is edging towards completion as the clubs negotiate terms.

According to the BBC, Liverpool would pay an initial 106 million pounds with a further 17 million pounds in potential add-ons. Neither Liverpool nor PSG had commented on the reports as of now, and the clubs have not issued official confirmation of the transaction.

Barcola joined PSG from Lyon in 2023 and accumulated 39 goals and 37 assists in 152 appearances across all competitions for the French side. During his spell in Paris he was part of squads that won consecutive Champions League titles in 2024-25 and 2025-26, three Ligue 1 championships and two French Cups, and he still had two years remaining on his PSG contract.

The acquisition would form part of Liverpool’s summer rebuilding under new manager Andoni Iraola, with Barcola described in reports as a marquee addition to the squad. The club have already brought in Ronald Araujo, Jeremy Jacquet and Victor Munoz during the current transfer window.

Liverpool’s forward line has been reconfigured following Mohamed Salah’s departure, with Alexander Isak — the club’s British record signing — alongside Cody Gakpo, Rio Ngumoha and Victor Munoz listed among the attacking options available to Iraola. PSG’s reported sale notes that Hugo Ekitike is currently facing an extended spell on the sidelines because of a long-term injury.

Liverpool began their new Premier League season with a 2-2 draw against Newcastle United, and reports state that players such as Isak and Florian Wirtz have yet to make their mark for the side this campaign. That start frames the club’s activity in the transfer market as it seeks offensive consistency.

The Athletic reported that Barcola is expected to put pen to paper on a five-year deal, a step that would complete the move if confirmed by the clubs.
