Liverpool have completed the signing of France international Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain, the club announced on 2026-08-31, with the move finalised before the transfer deadline. The 23-year-old is understood to have agreed a five-year deal, with reports in the British media putting the overall value of the transfer at around 120 million pounds (US Dollars 162 million).

Barcola arrives at Liverpool after three seasons with PSG, having moved to the French champions from Lyon in 2023 for a reported €45 million ($52 million). During his time in Paris he featured 152 times across competitions, scoring 39 goals and providing 37 assists. His pedigree at club level included appearances in Champions League campaigns.

Barcola, 23, expressed his delight after completing the move to Merseyside, saying: "It's a great pride to be able to play for Liverpool. I'm very happy. "It took a long time but I'm really happy today to be able to play for Liverpool and all I want is to be on the pitch and be able to play. "I hope to achieve very big things. First of all, winning the Premier League – it's one of my biggest dreams in my life. "It is to do that and to stay in this team in the long term – that's why I signed a long contract – and I hope I can do it."

His spell in France was packed with silverware. Barcola helped PSG secure consecutive Champions League triumphs, three Ligue 1 titles and two French Cups. He was also included in France's squad for this year's World Cup.

Known for his explosive pace, close control and ability to take on defenders, Barcola joins a squad where he had been facing increasing competition for starts at PSG. The club's forward line featured 2025 Ballon d'Or winner Ousmane Dembele, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Desire Doue, while Ferran Torres has also been part of the attacking mix.

Liverpool have been extremely active in the transfer market as they rebuild under new manager Andoni Iraola, the former Bournemouth boss who replaced Arne Slot after Liverpool endured a disappointing campaign, finishing fifth in the Premier League despite investing approximately £400 million in new players. Iraola's squad has already been strengthened with Uruguay international Ronald Araujo arriving on loan, while French defender Jeremy Jacquet and Spanish forward Victor Munoz have also joined the club. Barcola adds further depth to an attack that already includes British-record signing Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike, Cody Gakpo, Rio Ngumoha and Munoz.

Liverpool began the latest campaign with a 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest over the weekend. They will look to return to winning ways when they travel to Ipswich Town on Friday.
