Lorena Wiebes wins opening stage of Tour of Britain Women in Cockermouth

Lorena Wiebes, the 27-year-old Dutch rider, won the opening stage of the Tour of Britain Women, which started and finished in Cockermouth, Cumbria, on 19 August 2026.
The opening stage covered a 158.9km circuit in Cumbria. Wiebes, racing for Team SD Worx-Protime, prevailed in a sprint finish with Italy’s Chiara Consonni second and Great Britain’s Josie Nelson third.
