Hasan Mahmud took six for 90 as Bangladesh bowled out West Indies for 356 on the second day of the second Test at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet on Friday, November 6, 2026. The hosts closed the day on 88 for three, still 268 runs adrift of the visitors' first-innings total, with Towhid Hridoy unbeaten on 29 and Mushfiqur Rahim on 19.
Mahmud's 6/90 set a new benchmark for Bangladesh pace bowlers, his fifth five-wicket haul in Tests and one more than the number previously shared with Shahadat Hossain. He received support from opening quick Taskin Ahmed and all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who claimed two wickets apiece. Bangladesh also lost opener Shadman Islam to an ankle injury during the day.
West Indies' innings was anchored by Amir Jangoo, who made 133 off 212 balls, while debutant Kevin Wickham scored 61 and Justin Greaves contributed 51. The visitors' total of 356 came off 106.4 overs before Mahmud finished with the best figures of the innings.
Bangladesh shuffled their top order by sending Nayeem Hasan to open alongside Tanzid Hasan, but Nayeem was dismissed by Jayden Seales for five. Tanzid fell for 16 attempting a shot off Greaves, leaving the hosts 22 for two early in the reply.
Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto and Towhid Hridoy added 29 for the third wicket in an attempt to stabilise the innings, but Shamar Joseph broke the partnership by removing Shanto for 18. Towhid remained unbeaten at the close, providing the principal resistance for Bangladesh's batting line-up.
West Indies 356 in 106.4 overs (Wickham 61, Jangoo 133, Greaves 51, Mahmud 6/90) vs. Bangladesh 88/3 in 40 overs.
