Mainz 05 to host Bayern Munich at MEWA ARENA in Bundesliga matchweek 9 on Nov 7, 2026

Mainz 05 are set to face Bayern Munich at the MEWA ARENA on November 7, 2026, in a matchweek 9 fixture of the Bundesliga 2026-27 season. The preview includes confirmed starting lineups and pre-match updates ahead of the contest.

Mainz arrive under Urs Fischer having been knocked out of the DFB Pokal and currently on a three-match losing run. Die Nullfünfer have recorded three wins in eight league games and sit ninth on the points table, and they will be at home for this fixture.

Bayern remain undefeated in the ongoing Bundesliga campaign and were held to a 2-2 draw by Borussia Dortmund in their most recent league outing. The Bavarians followed that result with a 2-0 win against Atlético Madrid in the Champions League; Vincent Kompany’s men sit top of the table with five wins in their first eight German top-division matches.

Benedict Hollerbach is expected to play a key attacking role for Mainz after being the sole goalscorer in their 1-4 loss to Elversberg. The 25-year-old will be looking to step up his contributions as Mainz seek a positive result at home.

Michael Olise completed the most dribbles (4) and created the joint-most chances (3) for Bayern in the recent match referenced in the preview. The 24-year-old did not score against Atlético Madrid in the Champions League but was noted as one of Bayern’s most consistent attacking players and is described as capable of creating and finishing chances.

Confirmed starting lineups and ongoing pre-match coverage are part of the build-up to this Bundesliga matchweek 9 meeting, which will pit ninth-placed Mainz against top-placed Bayern at the MEWA ARENA on November 7, 2026.
