Mairaj said 'Aur achha ho sakta tha' after the Indian skeet team produced a record medal haul at the 2026 Asian Games.
The men's team bronze at the Games was Mairaj's first Asian Games medal, and he had previously competed at the Asian Games in 2006, 2010 and 2014 before returning in 2026.
Mairaj has three World Cup gold medals — New Delhi in 2021, Changwon in 2022 and Cairo in 2023 — and also won a silver in Rio de Janeiro in 2016 and a bronze in Cairo in 2021.
