Man United, Tottenham suffer shock defeats in Premier League opener

Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur suffered shock defeats in the Premier League season opener on opening day.

Promoted Hull City beat Manchester United 2-0, while Brentford secured a 3-0 victory over Tottenham.

Fellow promoted sides Ipswich and Leeds United won their matches; Everton began their campaign with a win over Crystal Palace, and Arsenal had already recorded a victory in their title defence.
