Manu Bhaker 16th in 25m pistol precision stage at Aichi-Nagoya

Manu Bhaker finished 16th in the women's individual 25m pistol precision stage at Aichi-Nagoya on Sunday, September 27, 2026, recording 287 in the qualification precision round.

Competing with Bib No. 1101 from Lane 18, Bhaker began with an 8, then a 10 and an inner-10 to settle; after the opening couple of series she was fifth among the first ten shooters with a score of 96. Bhaker remains the qualification record holder in the event after a 593 at the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games, and she had lost 13 points at the halfway stage this time compared with seven points shed across the entire qualification when she set that record.

Her rhythm dipped through the middle of the precision stage, posting 47 and 48 in the third and fourth series, before she closed the precision stage with 96 across the final two series.

Rahi Sarnobat finished just ahead of Bhaker in 15th place with 287 points, while Esha Singh was the top Indian in the precision stage in sixth with 290 points.

India occupy third place in the team standings after the precision stage with a combined score of 815-20x; South Korea lead on 823-34x, China are listed second on 820-30x, and Kazakhstan is placed fourth with 821-21x.

Iran’s Haniyeh Rostamiyan topped the precision stage with a score of 291, and Uzbekistan’s Saidkulova was the only other shooter to cross 290 in the precision round.

The rapid-fire stage, which will decide the final standings, is scheduled for September 28.
