Manu Bhaker and Mirabai Chanu among Indians in action on Day 4 of Asian Games 2026

Manu Bhaker and Mirabai Chanu will be in action for India on Day 4 of the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya on Wednesday, September 23. With the first gold medal already secured, the Indian contingent enters Day 4 with an opportunity to increase its medal tally.
Double Olympic medallist Manu Bhaker begins her campaign in the 10m Air Pistol individual and team events and will be joined in the pistol line-up by Esha Singh and Suruchi Singh as India looks to build on the five medals taken by its rifle shooters so far at the Games. Mirabai Chanu will compete in the women’s 49kg weightlifting class and remains in pursuit of a first Asian Games medal. Commonwealth Games medallist Gyaneshwari Yadav is set to contest the women’s 53kg weightlifting event after clinching silver in Glasgow last month on her CWG debut.
The skeet competitions conclude on Wednesday following two days of shooting, with a troika of Indian athletes contesting for team medals and for qualification into the individual finals in both the men’s and women’s events. The schedule lists these skeet events as reaching their final stage on Day 4.
India’s men’s badminton team, having beaten Japan to guarantee a medal for a second consecutive Asian Games, will face China for a place in the gold medal match; the side previously reached the final in 2022, when they lost to China in the title match. The team’s quarterfinal against China determines whether India advances to the final.
Several athletes will start their campaigns in squash, rowing and Canoe Sprint on Wednesday. India’s competition day is scheduled to begin at 5:30 am IST, with Sepaktakraw, Soft Tennis and rowing events listed early on the timetable.
The delegation’s confirmed entries for Day 4 include: Manu Bhaker, Suruchi Inder Singh, Esha Singh (Pistol Shooting), Anantjeet Singh Naruka, Mairaj Khan, Bhavtegh Singh Gill (Skeet Shooting), Raiza Dhillon, Parinaaz Dhaliwal, Maheshwari Chauhan (Skeet Shooting), Mirabai Chanu, Gyaneshwari Yadav (Weightlifting), Indian men’s badminton team, Roshibina Devi (Wushu).
India will contest at least eight medal events on Wednesday, and swimming could add up to three more medal opportunities if its athletes qualify for the medal rounds.
