McIlroy moves into tie for second as Clark maintains five-shot lead at BMW Championship

Rory McIlroy moved into a share of second place after carding a five-under 65 in the third round of the BMW Championship at Bellerive Country Club on Saturday. Wyndham Clark held a five-shot advantage after his own 65, leaving McIlroy and Patrick Cantlay tied on 12 under.
McIlroy rebounded from a second-round 69 that cost him the first-day lead, finishing with four birdies across the last six holes to reach 12 under. Cantlay matched McIlroy on 12 under after a 66 on Saturday. Clark recovered from a double-bogey at the first, birdied twice and eagled the eighth to be two under at the turn, then added four birdies in a five-hole stretch before a bogey at the final hole to return to the clubhouse on 17 under.
Chris Gotterup and Gary Woodland were listed on 11 under overnight, with Collin Morikawa on 10 under. South Korea's Im Sung-Jae sat on nine under. A group of four — M McNealy, R Hisatsune, E Cole and JJ Spaun — were recorded at eight under.
