Scott McTominay scored twice as Napoli defeated Bodø/Glimt 4-3 in the Champions League on 20 October 2026. The midfielder’s strikes were his first of the season after he missed a month following a surgical procedure in early September to treat an irregular heartbeat, and the win relieved pressure on coach Massimiliano Allegri.

Matteo Politano opened in the first minute before Jens Petter Hauge equalised for Bodø/Glimt. McTominay restored Napoli’s lead before half-time and also struck the post during the contest. Andreas Helmersen then levelled again for the Norwegian visitors.

McTominay added his second on 71 minutes and a late own goal from Odin Bjørtuft ultimately secured the 4-3 result for Napoli. Bodø/Glimt pulled one back in stoppage time through Sondre Brunstad Fet.

Atlético Madrid played with 10 men to hold Stuttgart to a 1-1 draw, denying the German side the chance to join Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool at the top of the table on nine points. Jamie Leweling had put Stuttgart ahead before Julián Álvarez equalised for Atlético. Midfielder Morten Hjulmand received a red card for a reckless sliding tackle from behind on Angelo Stiller, leaving Atlético to defend the remainder of the game with ten players.

Serhou Guirassy scored twice as Borussia Dortmund scraped a 2-1 away win over Azerbaijan’s Sabah, but the visitors wasted numerous further opportunities. The narrow victory followed last week’s loss to Bodø/Glimt and a draw at Union Berlin. Those results allowed Bayern Munich to take the top spot in the Bundesliga.

Pavel Kacor’s leaping volley in the 90th minute earned Slavia Prague a 2-2 draw at Fenerbahce. The Turkish hosts had led 2-0 early on before a defensive blunder by Mattéo Guendouzi allowed the Czech side back into the match.

PSV beat Porto 1-0 thanks to Guus Til’s 57th-minute winner. The defeat was Porto’s third loss. Roma recorded a 4-0 victory over Slovan Bratislava with Mario Hermoso, Nahuel Molina and Niccolò Pisilli scoring before Donyell Malen converted a penalty for the fourth.

The evening’s results left Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool on nine points at the top of their group, with Atlético unable to join them, while Dortmund’s recent dropped results saw Bayern Munich move to the summit of the Bundesliga.
