The men’s javelin throw at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, is set for September 26 and September 28, and India will be represented by Rohit Yadav and Yash Vir Singh.

India have won 15 medals so far at the ongoing Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya, and the athletics contingent aims to add to that total as its events get under way. The men’s javelin throw has been a productive event for India at the Asiad, with the country claiming five medals historically, including Neeraj Chopra’s back-to-back golds at the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Games and the 2022 Hangzhou Games.

Neeraj Chopra will not defend his Asian Games title after withdrawing from the squad because of injury, and Kishore Jena is also not part of the men’s javelin team. Chopra, a double Olympic gold medallist, was replaced by 2026 Commonwealth Games bronze medallist Yash Vir Singh. Yash Vir Singh will be joined by Rohit Yadav in Japan for the competition.
