On October 1, 2026, MG Motor are set to become the title sponsor of the Indian Super League in India on a two-year deal reportedly worth more than Rs 25 crore. The final paperwork is reportedly in its closing stages and is expected to be completed soon.

Hero MotoCorp had been the ISL’s title sponsor from the competition’s inaugural 2014 season through 2022-23; its exit left the league without a title sponsor for the subsequent three seasons. Under the reported agreement the competition could be branded the MG Indian Super League and the MG logo would appear on the competition’s crest. The deal is also understood to include a car for the league’s best player at the end of each season, with that award reportedly carrying a value of around Rs 25 lakh.

The reported partnership arrives ahead of the 2026-27 campaign and, given its monetary terms and the player prize, is described as potentially one of the ISL’s largest commercial agreements. League officials expect the sponsorship process to conclude in time for the new season.

The 2026-27 season is scheduled to begin on October 10, with Bengaluru FC hosting Sporting Club Delhi at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium and FC Goa facing Chennaiyin FC at Fatorda that evening. The opening phase will comprise 78 matches through January 17.

The reported sponsorship coincides with a change in leadership at JSW MG Motor India: Parth Jindal has recently taken over as chairman and had been a board member of the joint venture between JSW Group and SAIC Motor since its formation. Jindal is the founder of JSW Sports, which owns and operates Bengaluru FC; there is no confirmed information establishing his personal involvement in the reported ISL sponsorship agreement, and his roles place him at the intersection of two organisations with links to the league.

The ISL is entering its first season under a more club-led structure, with participating teams expected to assume greater responsibility for the competition’s commercial and operational direction. Under that framework clubs are set to play a more active role in shaping commercial strategy, matchday operations and long-term growth, and the league has added other commercial partnerships ahead of the campaign, including agreements involving data, technology and equipment.

The 2026-27 campaign will also expand the competition’s geographic reach, with a fixture scheduled in Imphal when NorthEast United FC face Sporting Club Delhi on November 24.
