Mighty Marathas whitewash Chiefs; Prithviraj Yodhas prevail in thriller
Mighty Marathas beat Chola Chiefs 6-0, Prithviraj Yodhas edged Chero Archers after a hit-or-miss, and Kakatiya Knights came from behind to defeat Rajputana Royals at the Archery Premier League season-2 event at People’s Plaza in Hyderabad on Saturday, October 10, 2026.
Mighty Marathas registered the first clean sweep of Archery Premier League season-2, securing their first win of the campaign under the leadership of Mike Schloesser and the late-stage anchoring of Dhiraj Bommadevara under time pressure. The Chola Chiefs persisted with a tactic of having their compound archers shoot back-to-back at the start of sets, a plan that was disrupted on the day.
Mike Schloesser lived up to his ‘Mr. Perfect’ nickname, shooting 10s with all six arrows for Marathas, while Chikitha Taniparthi’s two 9s for the Chiefs dented their early momentum and allowed Marathas to maintain a comfortable margin to seal the victory.
Chero Archers and Prithviraj Yodhas produced the most nail-biting contest of the evening, trading scores to take the match into a hit-or-miss that entertained a packed stand. Matias Grande finally managed to find the inner ring, sending the Yodhas’ camp into loud celebrations, and Pritika Pradeep couldn’t emulate Grade, giving Yodhas a thrilling victory.
In the final match, Kakatiya Knights came from behind to beat Rajputana Royals as Neeraj Chauhan produced clutch X-ring 10s and Jyothi Surekha Vennam was also on form. Mete Gazoz helped Royals take the first set with a pressure 10 in the first set, but Neeraj and Jyothi led Knights’ fightback and the pairing narrowly missed a perfect 80 when Neeraj shot a nine with the final arrow of the day.
The results: Chola Chiefs lost to Mighty Marathas 0-6 (73-74, 75-78, 71-74). Chero Archers lost to Prithviraj Yodhas 4-4 (0-1) (64-74, 76-74, 76-75, 71-74). Rajputana Royals lost to Kakatiya Knights 2-6 (75-74, 74-75, 76-77, 74-79).
