Mirabai Chanu claims silver in 49kg at 2026 Asian Games

Mirabai Chanu won the silver medal in the 49kg weightlifting category at the 2026 Asian Games on September 23, 2026.
She lifted 87 kg in the snatch and 111 kg in the clean and jerk for a 198 kg total.
Chanu had narrowly missed out on a medal at the Hangzhou Asian Games in 2023, finishing fourth after an injury prevented her from completing her final clean and jerk attempt.
