Mohun Bagan SG, SC Delhi and FC Raengdai reach Durand Cup 2026 quarter-finals
Mohun Bagan SG, SC Delhi and FC Raengdai have qualified for the quarter-finals of the Durand Cup 2026, which is being staged primarily in Kolkata with Ranchi’s Birsa Munda Stadium added as a venue, as of 11 August 2026.
The 135th edition features 24 teams competing across six groups for three trophies: the Durand Cup, the President Cup and the Shimla Trophy. Most sides have played two to three group matches; after the opening rounds three teams — Mohun Bagan SG (Group A), SC Delhi (Group C) and FC Raengdai (Group D) — have already secured passage to the knockout phase.
Mohun Bagan SG, the most successful club in the competition’s history with 17 titles, claimed their quarter-final berth after winning their first two Group A matches. Under new head coach Panos Dilmperis and with new signing Dezan Drazic involved, the Mariners beat East Bengal in the Kolkata Derby and then routed South United 8-0, a game that featured a Manvir Singh hat-trick and a late brace from Suhail Ahmed; Mohun Bagan reached six points and will face CISF Protectors on 10 August 2026 at the Kishore Bharati Krirangan.
FC Raengdai completed back-to-back wins to become the second side confirmed in the last eight and emerged as one of the tournament’s surprise qualifiers. The Northeast club opened with a 1-0 victory over Indian Navy FT before prevailing 4-3 against TRAU FC at the Khuman Lampak Main Stadium; Midul Doley scored a hat-trick in the win that sealed Raengdai’s place and they are due to meet Neroca FC in their remaining group fixture.
SC Delhi qualified from Group C with a maximum 9 points after winning all three of their group matches. The Capital ISL side recorded a late comeback victory over Jamshedpur FC in their opener and then defeated Defenders FC and Indian Air Force, scoring 7 goals in each of those two matches, to top the group and advance to the quarter-finals.
All three qualifiers still face group-stage permutations: each club has at least one remaining group game and a victory in those matches would secure top-place finishes and affect quarter-final pairings. The report notes that finishing at the top of the group would make the route in the quarter-finals easier for those teams.
Mohun Bagan SG, SC Delhi and FC Raengdai will enter the knockout phase with confirmed quarter-final places; Mohun Bagan’s next scheduled match is against CISF Protectors on 10 August 2026 at the Kishore Bharati Krirangan, FC Raengdai face Neroca FC in their final group match, and SC Delhi advances to the last eight having completed the group stage with 9 points.
